PRS Guitars has unveiled a “sandblasted” SE Swamp Ash CE 24 electric guitar. The limited edition build is the latest addition to its affordability-focused SE series, and makes one of the company's most eye-catching finishes available worldwide.

Following the release of its triple humbucker-equipped, Strat-style SE NF3 model, the company has brought a decidedly more metal-friendly guitar to market with its latest build, leaning into the mean visage of its sandblasted top.

That swamp ash top is sandblasted at the PRS factory to carve deep valleys in the wood, which are then filled in with a selection of colors – Blue, Green, Purple, Red, and White – which blend with a sleek black top.

That eye-catching top is paired with a mahogany back, a bolt-on maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard.

The limited edition guitar also offers 24 frets across a 25” scale length, with its fingerboard delivering a 10” radius.

PRS-branded 85/15 “S” humbucker pickups provide “extended high and low end with clarity and balance.” Their versatility extends with a push/pull tone control for coil taps.

The, guitar, PRS says, “delivers addictive playability, versatile tone, and distinctive looks in a quality package.”

“We have done runs with this treatment before, but this is the first time we are offering it at scale worldwide,” explains PRS COO Jack Higginbottom. “I really fell in love with these guitars after watching the sandblasting process in person. It’s transformational. But, these guitars are more than just eye candy – they take a ton of care to make, and they are made to be played.”

The SE Swamp Ash CE 24 Sandblasted Limited Edition is available now for $699.
