It might not be the latest model but I still think the Fender Mustang Micro punches above its weight - get it for even less in the Cyber Monday sales

I’ve been using the Fender Mustang Micro for years now and as far as headphones amps for guitar go, I still think it’s one of the best. Super portable, packed full of great tones, and easy to use, it’s now dirt cheap over in the Musician’s Friend Cyber Monday sale thanks to a cheeky $15 discount.

It can cover a lot of different styles with its combination of 12 amps and 12 effects, so whether you prefer cleaner tones, mid-gain crunch, or high-gain grind it’s got your back. So if you’re looking for a great Cyber Monday guitar deal on a practice amp I don’t think it gets much better than this.

Fender Mustang Micro: was US$99.99 now US$84.99 at Musician's Friend

One of the original, and in our opinion still one of the best headphone amps for guitar, the Fender Mustang Micro has a nice $15 discount at Musician’s Friend in their Cyber Monday sale. Packed full of amp models and effects it fits a surprisingly large amount of functionality into a teeny-tiny chassis, making it a brilliant, low-cost choice for practicing your instrument at home on the go.

I’ve played my Mustang Micro pretty much everywhere in my house whether that’s on the sofa, in bed, or the garden on a sunny day. Armed with your guitar and a pair of headphones you’ve got a travel-anywhere rig that’s perfect for impromptu songwriting sessions and practicing on the go. I love using it when I’ve got downtime on work trips, giving me great tones with a minimum of fuss or weight to carry.

There’s an excellent selection of sounds on board with EQ presets for fine-tuning the amp models giving you plenty of flexibility in your tones. With everything from the classic Fender clean sound through to 5150 tones, you can cover pretty much everything and anything with this ingenious bit of kit. I particularly enjoy the stereo delay effects, which sound fantastic through a pair of headphones.

Despite being relatively old, it has a USB-C connection which makes it well-suited for the modern world. You can charge it pretty much anywhere now and it’s also great for connecting to a smartphone to shoot videos of yourself playing. On my Pixel phone, it shows up as an external microphone and with a long USB-C cable you can make a nice content creation rig that doesn’t require loads of setup.
