Blackstar Unveils New 6L6-equipped HT Club 40 MkII Combo
Latest edition will be an "ongoing alternative to the standard HT Club 40 MkII".
Since its release in 2017, the Blackstar HT Club 40 MkII combo amp has been a staple for those looking to gig in club-sized venues. Now, almost three years later, the HT Club 40 MkII 6L6 has arrived.
The new model is fitted with - you guessed it - a pair of 6L6 tubes in place of the previous model's EL34s. The company says the new edition will be an "ongoing alternative to the standard HT Club 40 MkII."
Promising characteristic glassy clean tones, crunchy overdrives and smooth mid-range, the 6L6 version drives a 12" Celestion 70/80 speaker and features two channels and four footswitchable voices: American Clean, British Clean, Classic Overdrive and Modern Overdrive.
It also boasts a USB output for recording, built-in effects loop, onboard digital reverb, Blackstar's proprietary ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) and the option for power reduction down to 10% of its full wattage.
Cosmetically, the HT Club 40 MkII features black basketweave tolex and chicken head knobs.
The Blackstar HT Club 40 MkII 6L6 is available now for $799, the same price as the regular EL34 version. For more information, head to Blackstar.
