Gold, diamonds and pearls. Martin celebrates its 3 millionth serialized instrument and announces new models on show at NAMM 2025
The diamond-encrusted masterpiece is a tribute to the company's 192-year history and the countless employees who have served it
Acoustic-guitar maker Martin Guitar has announced new models and special creations, all of which will be on display at the guitar maker’s booth at the 2025 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, through Saturday, January 25.
As in previous years, Martin will make its mark with some stunning examples of the craftsmanship and innovative design for which it’s known. In addition to a stunning D-3 Millionth model and its companion D-300 inspiration, the company will present it refreshed Standard Series and Retro Plus guitars.
Here’s a look at what’s coming.
D-3 MILLIONTH
Martin marks its three millionth serialized instrument is breathtaking fashion with the D-3 Millionth, a guitar dedicated to the craftsmanship and the people who have served the company over its long history. Limited to just three guitars, it’s a stunning creation. The top depicts a cross section of an American sycamore tree with rings made of sycamore and solid gold to represent each year of the company’s growth. Inlaid diamond markers indicate major milestones in Martin’s 192-year history. This history-embracing theme of “past, present, and future” extends to details like the ebony headplate which features a Moravian star filled with diamonds and an engraved 14-karat palladium pickguard with rubies that mark each of Martin’s three Nazareth-area factory locations since its founding in 1839.
The guitar’s Brazilian rosewood back is yet another awe-inspiring display, featuring a sycamore tree of gold and pearl that recognizes the many employees who have served the company from its beginnings in New York City to its current home in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
Of the three examples, only one — serial number 3,000,002 — is for sale.

D-300
Inspired by the D-3 Millionth, the D-300 is a limited-edition Dreadnought that likewise features a cross section of an American sycamore tree, with rings made of real sycamore and silver (rather than gold) representing each year of the company’s growth, along with solid gold dots (as opposed to diamonds) that mark key moments in the guitar maker’s history. The Brazilian rosewood back features a sycamore tree made of abalone (versus gold and pearl), while rubies embedded in the inlaid ebony pickguard represent Martin’s three Nazareth-area factory locations since 1839.
The D-300 has European flamed maple binding, Waverly gold tuners, and Liquidmetal bridge pins with bezel-set emeralds. Only 30 of these guitars are available for purchase.
GRAND J-28E DN
Martin’s new J-28E DN is the first time in over a century that the company has offered a one-of-a-kind double-neck instrument. As part of the popular Standard Series lineup, this all-new guitar combines an acoustic-electric with a 12- and six-string neck. Its Grand Jumbo body delivers a bold, resonant tone, with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides and a solid spruce top for balance and clarity.
The Grand J-28E DN features classic 28-style appointments and has two compound dovetail neck joints and unique X bracing. Both necks feature a smooth satin finish and ebony fingerboard, with the six-string neck offering a slightly slimmer profile at the nut. It also includes built-in custom Fishman electronics
CEO-11
Designed by Martin president and CEO Thomas Ripsam, this Grand Auditorium (M) model acoustic guitar features a figured white oak multi-piece back and sides paired with an FSC-certified European spruce top, offering a rich, dynamic sound that’s powerful and warm. The eye-catching New Horizons blue burst top and dark mahogany-colored sides deliver a bold look, and unique inlays — including a custom Unalome symbol on the headplate that represents the path to enlightenment in Buddhism and Hinduism — add a distinctive touch.
The CEO-11 features a two-piece flamed maple neck, European flamed maple binding, and scalloped spruce X bracing, and it’s equipped with Fishman Aura VT Blend electronics, custom-voiced to Thomas’s preference.
Regarding its name, the number 11 is a “master number” that symbolizes intuition and creativity and alludes to this model’s designation as a guitar built for players looking to make a statement both sonically and visually. The CEO-11 is limited to only 1,111 models, each with a blue paper label signed and numbered by Thomas.
00L OLIVER
Springing from a collaboration between Martin and artist Julie Heffernan, the Martin 00L Oliver is a new limited-edition acoustic features Heffernan’s oil painting Self-Portrait as Arms and the Men reproduced on its FSC-certified solid spruce top. The 00L Oliver (named after Heffernan's son) features a sloped-shoulder Grand Concert body with solid medium-flame koa satin back and sides that deliver the rich tones of rosewood and the warmth and resonance of mahogany. A FSC-certified satin spruce top delivers balanced projection while underscoring Martin's commitment to sustainability. The 00L Oliver is limited to 104 instruments.
D-ROBERT GOETZL 10
Hand-painted by artist Robert Goetzl, this Martin Dreadnought features a vibrant display of a hummingbird surrounded by bright, blooming flowers. The artwork speaks to the guitar’s light and agile form and energetic sound, which comes via a resonant solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides for deep bass and lush overtones. The design is completed with an abalone rosette, Waverly gold tuners, and a genuine mahogany neck..
