We're excited about our first GP Presents event with the sensational Orianthi, who will be appearing at Yoshi's for a pair of dates in mid April.
The signature PRS artist is hot on the heels of playing the PRS 40th Anniversary Party where she rocked a cover of AC/DC's "Back in Black" while sitting down due to hamstring and hip injuries. Those issues forced her to cancel some dates with Alice Cooper, but we're confident she'll be back on her feet come April 16 and 17.
Orianthi is known for her work with Cooper, Michael Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Richie Sambora, Dave Stewart, Don Felder and the supergroup Hollywood Vampires. She’s also had great solo success including an early pop phase, and according to her web site she’s sold over a million records worldwide.
Orianthi released three singles in 2024 showcasing her soulful vocals as well as her tasteful guitar playing. She kicked things off with the blistering blues-rock single “First Time Blues” featuring Joe Bonamassa, and the video has racked up 820,000 views on YouTube.
The gospel-tinged ballad “Ghost” followed in summertime, and then in November came the R&B flavored “Some Kind of Feeling.”
In January of 2025, Guitarist reported that Orianthi is recording two new records. One is a blues-rocker with producer Kevin Shirley, while the other is more of a psychedelic jam project produced by legendary Hendrix engineer Eddie Kramer with drummer Cindy Blackman Santana and bassist Rhonda Smith in tow.
She told Guitarist, “I have a fingerprint of the way I play — a mix of Carlos Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Gary Moore — but I’m constantly evolving.”
We can’t wait to hear some of the new goodness from the PRS-wielding guitar goddess who also has a new signature Orange amp called the Oriverb. She’s playing two shows at Yoshi’s on April 16 and 17.
A GP Presents promotion will be in effect on site the second night with free Martin strings available at the table in the lobby on a first-come-first-serve basis.
